JEFFREY DOUGAL, O.D.,F.A.A.O.

Dr. Dougal is one of the founders  of Orange County Eyecare Optometry, Inc. He is one of six optometrists providing primary eye care, pediatric and geriatric vision care services, laser vision correction management, and treatment of ocular disease, eye allergies and ocular infection. He has specialized in contact lens fitting for over 25 years, he is certified in refractive surgery management, cataract management and the treatment of computer vision syndrome. Dr. Dougal is California Board of Optometry certified in Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. He is a Fellow and a Diplomate in the Cornea, Contact Lens & Refractove Surgery Secton of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Dougal has been a member of the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the American Optometric Association, and the Contact Lens Society of America.  Dr. Dougal has lived in Orange County since  graduating Anaheim High School and Fullerton College. He graduated with Honors receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry.

MICHAEL . SWEARINGEN, O.D.

Dr. Swearingen was born and raised in Southern California having graduated from Troy High School and California State University at Fullerton. He attended the Southern California College Of Optometry in Fullerton and graduated Cum Laude in 1973 with a Doctor of Optometry degree. Immediately upon graduation and successful completion of his State Board examinations, he entered the United States Air Force as a commissioned optometry officer and was stationed in Kansas City, Missouri, where he became Chief of the Optometry Clinic at Richards /Gebaur AFB. In 1976 Dr. Swearingen left the Air Force and returned to Southern California where he worked for private doctors, large medical groups, and as an Assistant Professor at the Southern Califrnia College of Optometry until 1978, when he opened his own private practice in Yorba Linda. Subsequently, in 1978 he merged his practice with Dr. Dougal's practice in Placentia to form Eyecare Optometry. He continues to practice part-time with Dr. John Shamus, an ophthalmic surgeon in Lynwood, performing ultrasonography on pre-op cataract patients as well as his full time duties at Eyecare Optometry. Dr. Swearingen is State Board certified in Therapeutic and Diagnostic Pharmaceutical Agents. He presently resides in Fullerton with his wife and has three children and two step-children.

ROBERT THOMAS, O.D.

Dr. Robert Thomas has been a staff optometrist at Eyecare Optometry since 1989. He is State Board certified in Diagnostic and Therapuetic Pharmaceutical Agents for the management of ocular disease. Dr. Thomas has been an Orange County resident since 1958. He graduated from Cal State University at Fullerton with Honors in Biochemistry. He graduated the Southern California College of Optometry with Honors in Visual Science with a B.S. and Doctor of Optometry.

WYNETTE AUGUSTINE, O.D.

Dr. Wynette Augustine is a long-time resident of Placentia; along with her husband, Greg. Her son, Jason, graduated from El Dorado High School. Dallas, her daughter, graduated from Valencia High School.

Dr. Augustine graduated Cum Laude from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She graduated with Honors from the Southern California College of Optometry.

For the first 5 years of her professional career, Augustine was an Assistant Professor at Southern California College of Optometry. She practiced in multiple practice settings, including private practice and large multi-specialty medical practices. She has been at OC Eyecare Optometry for over 12 years. Her experience in the profession of Optometry has included contact lens and solution investigational studies. For the past several years, she has served as an Expert Examiner for the National Board of Optometry in Fullerton, CA and New York, NY. She has served for many years as an Expert Exam Writer for the California Board of Optometry. She is Board Certified in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Agents by the State of California.

TAMMY SHINEN, O.D.

Dr. Shinen has been practicing optometry for over 8 years, specializing in primary eye care, pediatrics and ocular disease. She is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry in addition to her pre optometry university degree. She is mother to a handsome young boy and wife to a special husband.

ERICA JOHNSON CARDER, O.D., F.A.A.O.

I am a pediatric eye care specialist, providing quality care for all age children including vision therapy services as well as primary eye services for patients of all ages. I am proud to be a provider for the InfantSEE program developed by the American Optometric Association  and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Institute which features a one-time eye assessment to infants in their first year of life at NO COST.
